Meet LBJ Volleyball Head Coach Timesha Tibbs

6 Aug 2019 by Sarah Morris

Coach Timesha Tibbs is Head Coach for LBJ Jaguars Volleyball and coaches the Varsity team. We asked her to introduce herself; this is what she shared with us....

I am the 5th grade Math/Science teacher at Norman-Sims Elementary. This is my first year coaching as the head Varsity Volleyball Coach at L.B.J. Early College High School.

I grew up playing sports all year-round with my school, family, and friends. I graduated from Lanier High School, playing volleyball, basketball, track and softball. I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where I traveled and played club volleyball for the university. I later attended and graduated with honors from Huston-Tillotson University in 2011, with a bachelor's degree in education with focus and certification on early childhood.

I am married to Joshua Tibbs (4 years) with amazing little monsters...I mean two children..Joshaun (7) and Terryn (1). I've been blessed to shadow and learn from my mother, Coach Kathryn Moten, who has run her volleyball program at Lanier High School for almost 20 years. My brother, Tim Moten, also leads his own male volleyball program.

Purple Pride runs deep in my family. My late father, husband, and a host of my family and friends attended L.B.J. My coaching philosophy is "To who much is given, much is required." (Luke 12:48). I am looking forward to the upcoming season being filled with fun, love, laughter, hard work, sweat and tears. Most of all it will be rewarding.
