Hello, my name is Samuel Salas and it’s such a great pleasure to present myself as LBJ’s newest volleyball coach for the
2019-2020 school year! I look forward to this year and hope to share my passions of teaching fitness to young student athletes.
I was born in Mexico, but grew up in Harlingen, Texas where I played mostly soccer. I played club soccer with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. In December 2018, I graduated with my Masters of Science in Kinesiology. For the past three years, I have focused on coaching numerous youth sports such as volleyball, basketball, track and field, and of course soccer to children of all ages. I remain very active with resistance and weight training, as well as long distance running.
